Hospital bed

Hospital beds are a wonderful resource for people with certain medical needs. So, is it better to purchase a hospital bed or rent one? Lets take a look at the the pros and cons of each and the types of beds that you should choose.

First, lets take a look at the types of medical beds and which would work best for each situation. For most people, the semi electric hospital bed is the least costly, whether you purchase or rent. The semi electric beds are adjustable, but not everything is adjustable with the remote. In order to adjust the height of the bed, you would use a crank on the back. The head and feet are still adjusted with the hand remote with the push of a button. Semi electric beds are a great option if the height of the bed only needs to be set once and mostly left alone. This would be the case for people recovering from a medical procedure or are still fairly mobile. If the bed height needs to be adjusted regularly, for caretakers changing or dressing the person in bed, or if the user needs the bed at a particular height to get in and a different height to get out, the full electric bed is the better option. The full electric bed is the same as the semi electric with the exception that the height is also adjustable with the hand remote. Both beds are a twin XL and come with half or full rails. The mattress is usually inner spring or foam. If long term is needed, the foam mattress is highly recommended over the innerspring. The inner spring tends to form creases at the adjustment points, which can become uncomfortable or cause pressure sores.
