Why would you need a lift chair?  Raising up from the sitting position makes standing much easier.  This reduces the risk of falling, takes the stress out of getting up from a sitting position, and aids caretakers while standing.  When in the reclined position, elevating the feet helps with swelling in lower extremities, fluid circulation and takes pressure off the heart.  Its also quite comfortable.
